The Council on Aging has three outreach workers who are available to assist seniors and their families find resources to help seniors remain as independent as they would like to be. Appointment are preferred and strongly encouraged.
- Brenda Pappas LSW, is available Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Wednesday 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Andrea Cross MSW is available Monday through Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
- Audrey Allen, is available Monday and Tuesday 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Wednesday 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Brenda Pappas is a certified SHINE counselor and the COA representative of the Lahey Hospital Domestic Violence Committee. Brenda also facilitates a caregiver support group every other Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the senior center.
Thanks to a $100K for 100 Cummings Foundation Grant, Audrey Allen is available to work with Southeast Asians and older unemployed Burlington residents who are out of work and in need of support. This grant allows us to help the largest minority population in Burlington with social services and social engagement. Audrey also co-facilitates 55+ Job Seekers a support and educational group meeting twice a month.
The outreach workers also help seniors apply for fuel assistance, food stamps and other benefits and conduct wellness checks.

Caregiver Support Group
The Caregiver Support Group meets every other Wednesday at the senior center at 6 p.m. The group is primarily for caregivers of people with dementia symptoms but please contact Brenda Pappas at 781-273-7010 if you have questions.
