Community Service Unit

Lieutenant Thomas Carlson is currently assigned as the Community Services Supervisor for the Town of Burlington Police Department overseeing:

  • Accident and incident reporting requests
  • Animal control officer and related services
  • Billing accounts payable and receivable
  • Clerical staff in records
  • Community policing initiatives
  • Detail scheduling

Lieutenant Carlson also performs the duties of the keeper of records, firearms licensing, and civilian fingerprinting, and is responsible for coordinating and maintaining building maintenance.

Lieutenant Carlson supervises the following employees: an animal control officer, two administrative assistants, and one schedule/community policing officer.
